I'm there... inside your stamp album.

Amélie

Let me help you. Step down. Here we go! The drum major's widow! She's worn his coat since the day he died. The horse's head has lost an ear! That's the florist laughing. He has crinkly eyes. In the bakery window, lollipops. Smell that! They're giving out melon slices! Sugarplum, ice cream! We're passing the park butcher. Ham, 79 francs. Spareribs, 45! Now the cheese shop. Picadors are 12.90. Cabecaus 23.50. A baby's watching a dog that's watching the chickens. Now we're at the kiosk by the metro. I'll leave you here. Bye!

I have decided to stay in the french ambience. I wonder if you like it! But I am sure this quote told you everything. Today, I am chosing a movie which I did not appreciated after the first time I had watched it. How could I be such an ignoramus and a fool? I do not know to date. Only one thing is certain: Amélie, I will always love you. <3

Surprise! The first motion picture that is really full of happiness! Funny! Simple (if you want, I can find something... tough... hm...)! Join Amélie in her life journey! It hink you all have watched it a thousand times at least. So I do not want to make you bored because of my strange deductions (not funny at all). I am just throwing few adorable quotes below. Enjoy.

It's better to help people than garden gnomes.

Any normal girl would call the number, meet him, return the album and see if her dream is viable. It's called a reality check. The last thing Amélie wants.

Times are hard for dreamers.

With a prompter in every cellar window whispering comebacks, shy people would have the last laugh.

Old Man at the Two Windmills: Still, true love does exist.
Suzanne: I know. After 30 years behind a bar, I'm an expert. I'll even give you the recipe. Take two regulars, mix them together and let them stew. It never fails.

I'm busy ;)

5 nominations. And only nominations. It is unbelievable, isn't it? Maybe Academy does not, but almost everyone appreciate Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain. Any conclusions?

Listen to the music! Watch once again! SMILE! You can do everything what you set your mind to!

You are becoming obtrusive, Mrs. Pigeon...

Amour

Things will go on as they have done up until now. They'll go from bad to worse. Things will go on, and then one day it will all be over.

Amour is probably the best motion picture about love which I have ever seen. Even though it does not touch me personally. But it shows me many things which any other film does not. 'What things?' you are suppossed to ask. Strength and weakness, youth and senescence, love and animus, life and death. A lot of contradictions, as you can see. But are there any antinomies? I have reservations. These terms are rather couples of options of some cases. And they do not stay in an opposition. They mix each other. They like each other, I guess. They really love being in the same place at the same time.
Anne (Emmanuelle Riva) and Georges (Jean-Louis Trintignant) are marriage. She was piano teacher, he loved listening to her. Until everything was going on the right way, they were like white on rice. But just one trouble can shatter all of rests which we build our whole life. Particularly, disease.

Anne: What would you say if no one came to your funeral?
Georges: Nothing, presumably.

I was really moved. And I was shaking during a lot of scenes of this movie. I tried to change into one of the characters and make up my mind what I would do. And I knew that whatever they would do, I will be admiring them. Because of their sensibility, perhaps. Or maybe because I cannot imagine myself inside the situation like that.

There I was, crying out loud in the courtyard, and I told him the whole drama to the bitter end.

And here I am, encouraging you to watch and appreciate: the film and weakness hidden inside strength, life hidden inside death.

5 nominations (Michael Haneke was really proud of himself), 1 award (Best Foreign Language Film). When you finish watching just think about the equability of The Academy's choice. It is doubtful, isn't it?

I did not mention. This is FRENCH movie. French means INCREDIBLY COOL.

Amber & Coral

Marvin's Room

Most of the time I just keep to myself. I think like what it would be like to be... someone else.

Easter Monday! Today, I decided to choose a movie which shows the power of family. It is really optimistic. It tells you when you have some problems with any members of your family, find some force in yourself and fight with your imperfections. Or change things which you consider as your strongest sides to be more open to your friends.

Lee and Bessie are quite happy sisters. They are happy in their own. And in their own ways. During watching it is impossible to not compare their lives. Their kinds of feeling about reality are so different.

What happens when two worlds collide after twenty years? And what can fix the wastes? Who is Marvin? And why is his room so important? Follow the flickers. Discover pretty better common world with the characters. Just get better!

I promise you will laugh when you see aunt Ruth (Gwen Verdon). There you have many reasons to smile. Only positive reactions are expectable!

Meryl Streep, Diane Keaton (nomination for best lead actress), Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro are the best labels of this movie.

Only one nomination... What can I say... What a misery!  But Reachel Portman, who composed the music to this movie, received the Oscar in the same year for the other film. It is uplifting.

Spend this day with your family, smile and think positive! Best wishes!
